Homeless veterans and their families are prioritized for housing and services through the Continuum of Care. Together with our many partners, including the Miami VA Healthcare System and US HUD , the Trust is working to make sure than no one who has served our country goes without a safe, stable place to call home. The mission of Baltimore Outreach Services (BOS) is to provide comprehensive services and programs to homeless women and their children. Services include emergency shelter, supportive housing, educational programming, health and mental health services, job training and employment counseling.
CHOC serves homeless adult men and women in Montgomery County. CHOC’s two wings include a day center where clients can meet with a caseworker, receive their mail, wash their clothes, apply for benefits, or attend group meetings; the smaller wing is a 50- to 80-bed overnight shelter. Community Homeless Solutions helped me get a job through the Community Beautification Project and now I am an on call staff at the shelter. I look back at what I didn’t have and what I have now, and realize I am employed, saving money for a place to live and a better relationship with my family.
